    Two internationally renowned bands hailing from the iconic Chicago blues scene take the stage at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center. Howard & The White Boys have toured the U.S. and Europe with their signature sound blending blues with funk, R&B, and rock influences. “You can't see this high-energy, good time band at a club without leaving with a smile on your face” (Chicago Sun-Times). Guitarist Wayne Baker Brooks, son of Chicago blues legend Lonnie Brooks, has performed at a presidential inauguration and appeared in the film Blues Brothers 2000. He and his band honor this rich blues heritage while drawing on blues rock, soul, funk, and more to expand the boundaries of the genre.

  12. Fireside Chat with Mayor Hill and Bruce Johnson, CEO for NICASA

    April 26, 2018, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM @ Round Lake Beach Cultural & Civic Center

    Teen Court is an alternative to the traditional justice system for first time youth offenders ages 10 – 18. Based on principles of balanced and restorative justice, Teen Court sentences are determined by a volunteer jury of teen peers. Successful completion prevents the youth from having a court record for the offense. The program targets juvenile offenders of misdemeanor crimes such a theft, curfew, trespassing and possession of drugs or alcohol. The offender’s sentence consists of community service hours and a TRACK class (Taking Responsibilities and Accepting Choices through Knowledge), and may include letters of apology, essays, or other tasks. Nicasa operates Teen Courts in partnership with the following Police Departments: Zion, Winthrop Harbor, Gurnee, Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Round Lake Heights, North Chicago, Waukegan and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department.

    Music director Stephen Squires and the Illinois Brass Band return to the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center for an afternoon of glorious brass music of the season. The hall will come alive as thirty of the area's finest brass players fill the air with the sounds of this “Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” With a cheerful mix of traditional carols, holiday classics, and jazzy updates of Christmas favorites, it will be an afternoon that will put the entire family in the holiday spirit.     Johnny Cash & Neil Diamond Tribute Concert Nashville recording artist Doug Allen Nash grew up on a farm in Northwestern Illinois. After a personal conversation with Johnny Cash, he was inspired to create a tribute to the musical legacies of the musical legend and June Carter Cash. Nash captures the appearance, vocals, speech, mannerisms and spirit of Johnny Cash and introduces one of his own songs, “June,” cowritten and co-produced with Jeff Silverman in Nashville. The engineering mix was done by Grammy Award winners John Carter Cash and Chuck Turner. The performer, writer and publisher has also scored hits internationally, with "Long Legged Guitar Pickin’ Man” and “If I Give My Soul” reaching No. 5 and No. 14 on Europe’s top 200 Country Chart, with airplay in more than 17 countries.
